Meet the Team

AREA is led by dedicated and committed team, comprised of The General Assembly which is the supreme body and the main policy-making organ of the organization.  It has the power to endorse or overrule all decisions made by the Board of Trustee (BoT) and the Managing Director (MD). The General Assembly consists of an Executive Board containing MD, DMD, Head of Departments and regional Managers and Board of Directors. Besides AREA’s employee membership is open to any Afghan national interested in the development of Afghanistan.

The Board of Trustees is the main control and advisory organ and has 5 members.  The current BoT consists of 5 external members. The Board meets quarterly but can be summoned at any time as prescribed in the AREA constitution.
